We just left yesterday enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Pulitzer very much. The breakfast was good and had a variety of options including options for people that have allergies to gluten and milk. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful. They were even helpful in getting us reservations for the Borghese Gallery, which us to walk right in. Check in and check out was very quick. It was easily accessible to the metro which got you to anywhere you needed to go within 15 to twenty minutes. Some recommendations while travelling in Rome: Definitely get the Roma Pass. It saved us both time and money (in many it is like the speedpass at the theme parks in the US). It includes all mass transit in Rome (which is the only way you should travel in Rome). We bought it online before we left home and were able to pick it up at the terminal at the airport.
I have really enjoyed staying at Pulitzer. Hotel staff was extrememly helpful. Hotel is located close to the metro station that makes it easy to travel around. Breaskfast was great... I will consider staying there again.
Luxury, comfort and nice service
Region around is empty, even if close to metro station
There was nothing to like about this location.
The hotel was dirty. There were illegal activities and prostitution next to this hotel. Staff were unfriendly and rude. The room was never cleaned and left dirty. No bathroom tissues and or Kleenex. Despite complaints made to the reception, nothing was done. Overall a poor experience.
This hotel really is great value for money. We had a superior double room on the fourth floor. We requested it at the rear of the building, as the hotel is situated on a very busy main road, with lots of traffic noise. The room and bathroom were lovely, and both were kept very clean by the housekeeping staff throughout our stay. This is not a massive hotel, and has the feeling of a boutique hotel. The reception staff were particularly helpful. The buffet breakfast was great. The location is great, because of the distance to the metro station, although we also had a car as we wanted to explore further afield.
A few niggles as always. Customer service in Italy is not usually very good. The bar in the hotel is under staffed, and often unstaffed, and you can often wait 20 minutes to be served. The breakfast restaurant at the weekend is chaotic. There is definately not enough staff on at the weekend. The hotel is situated on a main road which is frequented by prostitutes at night. It did not affect us at all and we found it quite amusing, but people of a more sensitive nature or with children might be put off. Parking is the usual nightmare in Rome, and the hotel does not have a car park.
nice design, big room (superior double), nice bath, descent breakfast, nice gym, free wi-fi that worked fine in the room
luck of fresh orange juice in the hotel bar
Very nice hotel, definitely not in a great neighborhood but very conveniently located given the proximity to the subway.
Rooms lloking onto the main road are quite noisy. We asked to be moved to the back.
I stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend in September 2012. Very nice hotel, nice price (especially being in Rome). Nice decoration. Friendly staff. The breakfast is really REALLY nice for 10 euros When we arrived they gave us a very small room (maybe because we are a young couple and we look younger than we really are), but we asked for another one and they were very nice and gave us another one. The hotel is a bit far away from the city center but is close to a metro station, witch is better in our opinion (and the hotels in the centre are very expensive). We saw the reviews saying that there were prostitutes in the street at night. It is true, but they do not say anything to you or look at you. They just look at the road, minding their own business. I felt save.
Somehow cleaner than others, but still not a 4 star hotel.
The price was a bit steep for the level of comfort and cleanness. Also we ordered a taxi when we left off, straight from the reception. Instead of a real rome taxi (its white color) the reception guy called us a van and he said it will cost 45 euros to ciampino airport(on real taxis the rate is 30 euros and is standard) We had to accept this because we were in a hurry, otherwise we could have missed our flight. Anyway on arrival at the airport the van guy asked us 50 euros and not 45, after arguing with him, he gave up and we paid 45. But still they wanted to rip us all off. Also in Rome pay attention at caffes and everything, because italians will rip you off on almost anything.
Friendly and helpful staff; nice public environment as well as nice bedroom; tea and coffee-making facilities is a nice touch; public balconies for nicotine addicts;
We liked the hotel very much! The room was amazing - it was very clean, it was big, it was extremely well designed, the aircondition worked well and silently, there was everything we needed (even a cattle and coffee and tea) and we felt very comfortable. Breakfast ist great! The location of the hotel was OK for us: we knew that the hotel was located outside the city centre. However, it is only a 5 minute walk to the metro station and the trains run frequently (all 5 to 10 minutes, any day). Although the metro only runs until 11.30 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and until 1.30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, there seems to be the night bus N3. A taxi is rather expensive, between 25 and 30 € during the night from Roma Termini to the hotel. So, the location is perfect, but you need to organize the transport if you want to return late at night. Guests must furthermore be aware, that the area is special in the sense that women working on the street at night are standing in the direct neighbourhood of the hotel. It did not bother us at all - but if people are travelling with children they should be aware of that fact.
The only critic I have about the hotel is that although the staff is friendly, staff is not really interested in the guests. You get everything you ask for, so the service is good. Staff seems, however, not really interested in the guests. They are polite, but not courteous and not especially engaged. The question of the bus service was not answered, the lady working at the breakfast was unfriendly. However, the hotel is absolutely recommendable and I would book it again for my next trip to beautiful Rome.
It was clean, comfortable, great access to transportation and friendly staff! I will definetely stay again!
Great price, near metro station, so you get more than staying in Rome itself. Metro takes about 15 mins to Termini station
Tastefully designed interior, very friendly stuff, cosy atmosphere, nice breakfasts
TV channels were not working, only the ones for additional charge.
My room was very clean, I was very comfortable.
